Crayon Stainglassed Windows

What You Need:
crayon shavings from old crayons
wax paper
iron
What You Do:

1. Take the crayons and create shavings with a potato peeler or knife or small pencil sharpener. (you could also have your kinderartists break the crayons into little pieces. )
2. Put the shavings onto a piece of wax paper.
You can keep the colors separate if you want and make a picture or a design or just let them fall at random.
3. When you have the crayon shavings arranged the way you like, put another piece of wax paper on top of the one with crayon shavings. Then put a towel over the wax paper run the iron over the top of it. Melt the crayons and then take the towel off and see what it looks like. You will have a "crayon sheet".

***OPTIONAL - Cut the crayon sheet into shapes and hang in front of a window or from the ceiling.
***MORE OPTIONS - place a sheet of thick white paper beneath the crayons instead of wax paper. The design will melt into the paper and you will have a monoprint on paper.
